Who we are:
Therapy Threads was born in March 2008 when an Occupational Therapist asked me to make some things for her clinic and clients. I have been sewing all of my life and was excited to have a chance to pour my passion for sewing into products that could help children with Autism, Rett Syndrome, ADHD, and Sensory Integration Disorders (SID). Based on my own search for help for my boys, I knew how expensive therapy products could be (My husband & I are parents of three children (ages 9, 12, & 15), two of whom have Asperger Syndrome.)
That was the start of a journey that has brought joy to me through the creative process and most of all through the letters from my customers whose children and families have been changed by my products. Those products have come from the input of numerous occupational therapists and were designed and created by me.
In October of 2008, we launched our web site to offer our products to a greater number of families, schools, and occupational therapists across the country. Each category on our site has a specific function and is described in further detail on it's individual page. My hope is that my creations are affordable and will continue to provide some comfort and relief of symptoms for special needs children and their families.

This is perhaps THE best explanation of Asperger Syndrome I've found. It's like looking into the future of my oldest son...he, too wants to be a geologist and his room is slowly turning from a bedroom into a display room for his ever expanding collection of rocks and minerals. After watching this video, he said, "They kind of hit it on the head. Conversation is really hard because I never know what might interest someone else. I only know what I like."
And I'm thinking, "Yay! he used a figure of speech appropriately!"

We accept payments through Paypal. You do not have to have an account with them, they will allow you to pay as a guest. You can adjust quantities of ordered items in your Paypal shopping cart prior to payment. Tennessee state sales tax will be added to any items shipped to a TN address. Shipping is 10% of your total sale in the continental US. (Allow 10-14 days for delivery)

If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact us below and we will do everything we can to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your purchase. Returns are accepted for 30 days after the item is shipped to you. We ask that you pay the shipping costs for the journey back to us.
