I’m so excited to share three of my favorite essential oil blends with you. As you’ll see, they can provide emotional as well as physical benefits when used for aromatherapy.
One of my favorite aspects of using essential oils is their wide range of applications in everyday life. While essential oils are an amazing, natural way of treating mental illnesses like depression and anxiety, they’re also useful for those who do not suffer from a mental illness and can be used to improve your day-to-day life. Maybe you had a stressful week at work and need something to lift your spirits, or maybe you have a child at home who has a hard time falling asleep at night and needs help with relaxing and calming down. Chances are there’s an essential oil blend that you can use at home for aromatherapy.
The invigorating blend merges the power of uplifting citrus-based essential oils. doTERRA’s Citrus Bliss is considered an invigorating blend. This harmonious blend combines essences of Wild Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit, Mandarin, Bergamot, Tangerine, Clementine and a hint of Vanilla Bean to help reduce stress and lift your spirits. The aroma is sweet, citrus-y and promotes positive thinking. I personally love to use an invigorating blend when I’ve had a long day at work and feel stressed out. In addition to using this blend in an aromatherapy scarf, I also love to rub a drop or two on my wrists for a great, everyday perfume.
The warm, woodsy aroma of the grounding blend creates a sense of calmness and wellbeing. This blend combines Spruce, Ho Wood, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, and Blue Chamomile. This one is perfect for yoga or other de-stressing activities. I use it when I need to chill out and focus on what’s important in life. It helps me to feel grounded and at peace with both myself and my surroundings. A grounding blend is especially helpful for relaxing when I’m under a lot of pressure or stress. Spruce, one of the oils in grounding blends, was actually used by Native Americans for health and spiritual reasons and is still used today to bring harmony to the mind and body.
I can’t stress the importance of sleep and its effects on the body enough. A good night’s sleep is so essential for the function of your physical body and for the healthy processing of your thoughts and emotions, too. When you sleep, your mind goes through the events of the day and the thoughts lurking in your subconscious. If you aren’t able to sleep well, you are missing out on the rest and reset time that your body and your mind needs.
The restful blend combines Lavender, Cedarwood, Ho Wood Leaf, Ylang Ylang, Marjoram Leaf, Roman Chamomile, Vetiver Root, Vanilla Bean and Hawaiian Sandalwood to take the user to a state of blissful repose. I have a friend who struggles to maintain healthy sleep patterns and he discovered this blend really helps him to relax and sleep deeply through the night. This is also a great blend to diffuse at night to help calm a restless baby or child who has trouble falling or staying asleep.
There it is! Three helpful aromatherapy blends to improve your physical and your emotional life.
