Resistance

Resistance provides increased muscle tone and improvement in large motor skills.  Children with Autism, Sensory Integration difficulties or ADHD often have trouble feeling where their body is in relation to objects around them.  Resistance helps children feel grounded and safe in their surroundings.

Resistance Tunnel  $82

The resistance tunnel has long been used as a sensory integration tool.  Ours is 12 feet long with two handles at either end which allow an adult to provide stability for the child as they crawl through.  The resistance experience can be adjusted from easy (the child simply crawls through) to more complex (the child pushes a weighted object through ahead of him/her.)  Many children like the security of this enclosed space. 

This tunnel is created using three sections, each with a different textured fabric and reinforced stitching.  Nylon/lycra & cotton/polyester.  Can be machine washed and dried on delicate settings.  Red/Black.

***For concerns regarding meltdowns...the parent/adult can have the child out of the tunnel within 5 seconds.  Using your hands, simply roll the tunnel down.

Resistance Band  $28

The resistance band is a great way to build muscle tone and explore movement.  It strengthens muscles as it helps the child feel their arms or legs in relation to the world around them.  Can be used for upper or lower body work.  Measures 16" X 28" and stretches up to 48" long.

Nylon/Lycra.  Machine wash and dry on delicate settings.
