Weight provides a calming effect on children with Autism, Rett Syndrome, ADHD, or Sensory Integration difficulties. These children are often stressed or hyper active and can relax when provided with a weighted lap pad, neck pillow or blanket. (From personal experience, I have discovered that these items relax parents, too!)

Lap Pad $28

Hyperactivity and attention difficulties make school settings and homework difficult for children with ADHD and/or Autism. The children often do not feel the pressure of the chair beneath them. A simple weight on their lap allows them to feel their body in space and in turn feel more secure and relaxed.

Lap pads are 100% cotton and fully lined for durability, measure 16" X 12" and weigh 3 lbs. Can be machine washed, but air dry (dryer can damage or melt the pellets.) Available in Cars and Mickey Mouse (with solid color, coordinated backing), and denim.

***If the lap pad is damaged in any way or shows signs of wear, it should be discarded. If exposed, the poly pellets inside may pose a choking hazard to very small children.

Wrist/Ankle Weights
$18/pair or $34/set

Weights worn on the wrist or ankle can substantially increase muscle tone. Our weights are comfortable enough to wear during everyday activities and allow benefits throughout the day. Some clients have also had success in reducing hand flapping through the use of wrist weights.

Weights are made of neoprene with velcro tabs to provide a flexible and durable product. Interior weights are nickel-plated steel. They measure 2 1/4 X 18 inches and will adjust to fit a circumference of 4 1/2-10 1/2 inches. Spot clean for best results.

Weights are sold in pairs and a single weight is 4 oz. (purple), 8 oz. (green), 12 oz. (red), or 1 lb. (blue). Each weight is a specific color for easy identification.

Weight sets are also available and allow additional options when using different weights in combination:
    Light-weight set contains 1 pair of 4 oz. and 1 pair of 8 oz.
    Mid-weight set contains 1 pair of 8 oz. and 1 pair of 12 oz.
    Heavy-weight set contains 1 pair of 12 oz. and 1 pair of 1 lb.

Weighted blankets are a great stress reliever. They encourage the relaxation of entire muscle groups by distributing weight evenly over the body. Our blanket is sewn in a grid pattern to maintain weight positioning. Each blanket is fully lined, filled with poly pellets, and edges are bound.

Fleece. Machine washable. Line dry. Available in purple/green, red/black, bubble gum pink/purple, or blue/blue (single solid color on each side.) Three and four lb. blankets measure 35" x 45"; all others measure 45" x 60"

How we use your blanket scraps...

My daughter and I use the leftover fleece scraps from the blankets to make hats. We donate them to the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital radiation unit. The children in this unit often lose all of their hair. The hats not only keep their heads warm, they also help ease the embarrassment some children experience when their hair is gone. The scraps from one blanket can make approximately 6-8 hats.

Made of soft fleece and fully lined. Puppy pillow has ears that make a crinkling sound when touched. Filled with fiber fill and poly pellets, the pillow can be hand washed and air dried. Measures approximately 11" x 14" and weighs 3 lbs.
