The reason Self Care Club chose to partner with Tr1be Fitness is not just that physical exercise is an important component to self-care, but they offer a unique approach to exercise. One that’s focused on body positivity and improving overall health. They stress the importance of working out and eating right for the many benefits that go beyond appearance and a number on the scale, including how it makes you feel, makes you stronger, and improves your mental health and physical health.
When we don’t reach out to others, we allow them AND ourselves to sit alone in our shame, and by doing so we feed shame two of the ingredients it needs to survive: silence and secrecy. Using shame to fight shame doesn’t work. And using shame as a tool to try and change others doesn’t work, either. We can, however, all benefit from shared empathy. Empathy is what helps extinguish shame in its tracks.

We are to love our enemies that they might be returned to their right minds.” -Marianne Williamson In times like these… with horrific attacks occurring across the world, killing innocent, beautiful lives, it is easy to […]
“Have you ever read something that killed you inside? Like a text message or someone’s status. Everything was going fine until you accidentally came across something you didn’t want to read. Or found out something you were better off not knowing. It’s almost as if it were posted just to purposely hurt you.” -Unknown We […]
“Our relationships are like mirrors. We attract what we need to work on ourselves.” -Law of Reflection [I’ve been a little quiet on here lately, and I want to apologize for my inconsistency; which is one of the most important parts of blogging! This is still new to me, and not to come out with […]
