The journey and process of becoming a parent should be a time to really take in every moment. However, there can be struggles expecting mothers face during their pregnancy and after the birth of their child. Postpartum depression and new mother stresses are just the beginning of the challenges women face.
Postpartum depression affects as many as one in five women, according to the Huffington Post. The side effects of lack of energy and motivation makes caring for a child harder. Fortunately, there are ways to improve and lessen the postpartum effects. Essential oils, such as lavender, are shown to reduce depression, help relieve stress and anxiety. New mothers, along with the baby, can use these oils in daily aromatherapy.
Therapy Threads’ scarves are also a convenient and simple way for mothers to receive aromatherapy while caring for their child. The scarves can be worn personally, be used for blankets to wrap your baby in or as a cover while and provide benefits to them as well. It is our mission to help make the parenting and motherhood journey the beautiful experience that it is meant to be. If mothers make their mental health a priority, their children will benefit just as much.
Dani Singer, founder of Therapy Threads and licensed therapist, will be at the Baby Love Fair in the Pamper Lounge on Sunday, June 11. She will be talking and answering questions about any mental health issues moms face or could possibly experience.
The Baby Love, LLC fair will provide you with everything you may need during the first stages of parenthood. There will be demonstrations, such as car safety, crib safety and many other “how to” live demonstrations that will provide you with great information about how to properly care for your baby. Vendors will also have products and services geared towards making your life easier and more enjoyable during the first year of your child’s life.
Tickets for the event are $8 in advance and $12 at the door. Children are more than welcome to attend as well! Kids under the age of 12 get in free.
